The "Vasile Racotta" School in Ștorobăneasa, Teleorman county, was founded in 1911 by landowner Nicolae Racottă - a communications engineer with a doctorate from Oxford, twice prefect of Teleorman county, director in the Ministry of Communications. For the construction of the school, the instructions of the Minister of Education, Spiru Haret, were followed, being equipped with a modern ventilation system and running water. The building was expanded in the 1950s because it had become too small for the children from Ștorobăneasa and neighboring localities.
In the 110 years since its establishment, the school's activity is impressive. Today, 226 children from grades 0-8 study here, participate in school activities and competitions. With limited resources but with great dedication, the management, teachers and entire school staff manage to prepare them for the next stage of life.
We had the honor of meeting part of the wonderful staff of the school and, to come to their aid, we donated 57 benches with chairs to be used by the children of this school.
